Academics & Curriculum
At Southern Raised Learning, we believe that when we enroll a child, we enroll their family. It takes a village to nurture and educate a child with unique learning needs, and we proudly partner with parents to ensure every student’s success.
Southern Raised Learning is fully accredited by the Georgia Accreditation Commission (GAC) and follows the Georgia Core Curriculum, providing a rigorous academic foundation that meets state benchmarks while allowing flexibility for individualized and small group instruction. Our research-based curriculum recognizes the diverse educational needs of our students and integrates cooperative, hands-on learning across all subject areas. We pride ourselves on a 1:3 student-teacher ratio.
Through creative arts, problem solving, and social-emotional skill-building, students develop confidence, self-esteem, and a love of learning. Our teachers model respect, acceptance, curiosity and kindness - continually learning from one another so that our classrooms remain places where every child feels seen, supported, and capable of growth.

Social Skills
Positive Action
Our social skills programming is both interactive and engaging. We build in numerous opportunities for students to practice their social skills across the curriculum. We also encourage parents to promote social opportunities where their skills can be used outside of the school setting. Skills like social functioning, listening, responsibility, personal space and emotions are a few of the valuable social skills we explore.
The Unthinkables
We also integrate The Unthinkables series, a fun and engaging social-emotional learning program that helps students identify and manage unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. By learning strategies to recognize their “Unthinkables” and activate their “Thinkables,” students develop stronger self-regulation, social understanding, and resilience.
