A Day in the life of Lower Elementary

  • Students begin the day with a calm, predictable routine that helps them transition into learning. Morning work, check-ins, and emotional regulation and readiness.

  • Instruction focuses on foundational reading, writing, and math skills using small groups and hands-on activities. Lessons are paced to meet individual needs while building confidence.

  • Students have built-in movement, sensory breaks, and opportunities to reset. These moments help support focus, self-regulation, and engagement throughout the day.

  • Guided social interaction in areas such as PE, Music and Art helps students practice communication, turn-taking, and cooperation in a supportive environment.

  • The day ends with reflection, organization, and preparation for what’s next—helping students leave feeling successful and secure.

Our Classroom Philosophy

“Students learn best when they feel successful.”

In our Lower Elementary classroom, students experience a structured schedule in a warm, comfortable environment where they feel safe sharing ideas. Consistency and routine help students feel secure, confident, and ready to learn.
